Celebrating More than Just Halloween on International Avenue

Diwali (Hindu Festival of Lights)

On International Avenue, we celebrate more than just Halloween.

On Sunday October 30th, the Festival of Lights called Diwali will be celebrated by our Hindu friends.

One of the major festivals of Hinduism, it spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed.

So if you find yourself at a home or a store with candles lit up on their front porch, be sure to wish the families and business owners a “Happy Diwali!”
